Photos Competition
Purpose and theme of the competition
A photos competition is being organised on the sidelines of the 17th AFTES international congress, on the following theme:
“The role of co-workers, both male and female in the evolving underground construction sector”
This competition is free and open to all those who would like to help illustrate the vital role of male and female co-workers without whom the success of a project would not be possible. In particular, showing their roles at work sites, highlighting the evolving nature of underground construction works. Give free rein to your creativity!
Terms of participation
Each participant may submit up to three photographs using the form below. These must be submitted before 10 June 2023.
The images submitted may be in colour or black & white, and must have a minimum size of 20 megapixels. The photographs must be sent in JPEG format, without margins or signature (the latter will be added automatically using the form filled out above).
Selection criteria and prizes
A selection panel composed of five people (two professional photographers and three members of the conference organising committee) will meet during the summer of 2023.
The selection criteria will be as follows: consistency with the theme of the competition, aesthetic qualities and originality of the photograph.
The following shall be excluded from the competition: photographs of a visibly commercial nature, or those in clear violation of laws and regulations.
The twenty best photographs will be:
- Printed in large format and displayed during the AFTES conference from 2 to 4 October 2023 in the aisles of the Palais des Congrès at Porte Maillot in Paris
- Shown on screens during the conference,
- Featured in the journal Tunnels et Espace Souterrain.
Among these, the top three will be honoured at the gala event, with the following awards:
- €500 for the first price,
- €350 for the second price,
- €200 for the third price.
